Feral Franky And Sennachie Lock Horns In Match Race

As if TAB Melbourne Cup night wasn't big enough!

A match race will take place this Friday night between star sprinters Feral Franky and Sennachie.

The $25,000 Cup Night Speed Star will be run after Race 3 with ‘The Feral' to jump from box 1 and Sennachie from box 3.

"We're confident it's a match up that will capture the interest of not only the greyhound purists but general racing and sport fans," said Greg Miller, CEO of Sandown Park.

"On the sport's greatest night we want to showcase two stars in a format that has proven to be very popular. As the Melbourne Cup field proves, there's an outstanding crop of sprinters like we haven't seen before."

Feral Franky and Sennachie set 29.247 and 29.245 respectively to qualify for September's Speed Star.

The Cup Night Speed Star will be run under usual racing conditions with greyhounds to be kenneled, vetted and subject to swabbing.

Betting will be available on the match race through TAB, with early markets installing each of the star gallopers at $1.90.
