Garth's Brilliant Start Only Getting Better

HUGELY promising types Zipping Garth and Rockin' Georgia maintained their unbeaten records at Ladbrokes Gardens on Saturday night, the pair remarkably born on the same day.

EMERGING star Zipping Garth went within half-a-length of kennel-mate Zipping Bailey's 515m track record with a stunning 29.20 victory at Ladbrokes Gardens on Saturday night.

Maintaining the unbeaten start to his career for trainer Jason Mackay, the son of Zulu Zeus scored at the weekend by a widening 11 lengths, posting an outstanding 11.80 run-home to go within a whisker of Golden Easter Egg winner Zipping Bailey's 29.16 time-standard.

And on the strength of Saturday night's effort, it would seem only opportunity stands between he and the record – at some stage.

Now a brilliant winner at each of his five appearances, Saturday night's sizzling Ladbrokes Gardens romp sits alongside some equally outstanding times, including a 30.09 success for the 535m at Richmond, and the 24.85 he posted at Maitland on debut over the 450m.

Still just 21 months of age, and racing with more track sense each time he steps out, a huge future awaits the hugely talented chaser, placed to perfection by Mackay at his five starts to date.

Speaking of rising stars, Darryl Thomas' Rockin' Georgia made it three-from-three to begin her flourishing career over the 400m, scooting over the journey on Saturday in 22.66.

Having her first start following two brilliant Gosford 388m wins back in January, including a track record 21.85 effort, the daughter of Collision and top producer Cop A Sling has a huge future ahead for connections, displaying maturity well beyond her age.

On a strong card of racing on Saturday at Ladbrokes Gardens, the time-standard for the meeting over the 400m was set by the John Antonelli-trained Rusty Trick, the northern rivers chaser rocketing over the course in 22.55.
