Garth's Glorious Maitland Debut

Zipping Garth stole the show at Maitland on Thursday debuting in a blistering 24.85, while at Richmond Friday his litter sister Zipping Truvy recorded 22.38 in a performance trial

JASON Mackay believes his decision to bypass next week's Group 3 Magic Maiden Series at Wentworth Park with Zipping Garth is the right call, despite the son of Zulu Zeus rocketing over the Maitland 450m on debut Thursday, posting a flying 24.85.

Running a sizzling 29.50 in a performance trial at Ladbrokes Gardens just six days prior to his Maitland debut, a time made even more remarkable by the fact he gave away a considerable margin early, Zipping Garth was outstanding at Maitland on Thursday, scoring by 8 ¾ lengths in 24.85 – the fastest time recorded by a maiden greyhound at the venue.

Zipping Garth is a son of Zulu Zeus and Zipping Abby, with the litter showing plenty of promise for the Hallinan family, with Zipping Truvy running a scorching 22.38 in a Richmond performance trial on Friday night for trainer Rob Tyler.

Recording a powerful run home of 14.17, Zipping Truvy was joined by Zipping Lyle (22.82) and Zipping Shay (23.01) as performance trial winners on Friday, the litter certainly worth keeping an eye out for over the coming weeks.
