While the record books show the Ray Smith-trained son of Collision scored by an ever-increasing 12 ¾ lengths to stop the clock in a flying 30.20, a congested charge into the first bend could have resulted in a completely different outcome, had the group 1 winner not managed to get himself out of harm's way when it mattered most.

But find a way he did, as has become customary throughout his 30 start career which has netted 17 victories and 11 placings, remarkably missing a cheque on just the two occasions.

This Sunday, Feral Franky returns to do it all again in the Gunnedah Million Dollar Chase Regional Final, where he'll exit box six and look to solidify exactly why he's the $17.00 second favourite in all-in betting for October 18's $1 million to-the-winner grand final at Wentworth Park.
