Whiskey Riot Kicking Goals At Stud

GROUP 1 glamour boy Whiskey Riot cemented his already glowing reputation when he landed the Temlee this time last year in emphatic fashion.

GROUP 1 glamour boy Whiskey Riot cemented his already glowing reputation when he landed the Temlee this time last year.

A year on from that memorable victory, the son of Fernando Bale-Ready To Riot (by Collision) is safely entrenched in a stud career where he is already holding court for some well bred, well performed and proven broodbitches.

Last year's Temlee victory saw him leave in his wake such group stars as King Cratos, Slingshot Hammer, Barooga Brett, Oakvale Beauty, the MDC winner Good Odds Harada, Jaro Bale and Simon Told Helen.

It was the best line-up of sprinters the country could provide … befitting of any Temlee invitation in history.

The dog's trainer Anthony Azzopardi, now his studmaster, is more than happy with the response to the dog.

“He's doing very well for a first season sire,” said Azzopardi.

“His oldest pups are about nine months and they are from Flash Riot whose daughter Start A Riot was a Group 1 winner and earned $160,000. It was a great start for him to get a bitch of that quality.”

Azzopardi said he has a litter and has bought some pups from outside bitches by Whiskey Riot.

“His semen is very fertile,” he said. “He's a natural at the new game, just like he was as a race dog.

“And he is trowing really good colours, just like his father Fernando bale does.

“Everyone who has them tells me how keen they are.”

Among the first bitches mated to Whiskey Riot includes Lakeview Grace the dam of exciting youngster Lakeview Max.

Another mated to Whiskey is Uno Suzie (23 wins, $132,000) who has been a fine broodbitch in litters already to Dyna Villa and Collision.

She is the dam of Show Business (13 wins, $49,000) and Mighty Muscle (11 wins, $39,000) etc.

Cawbourne Rev (Dyna Lachlan-American Spot) a litter sister to the sensational Cawbourne Whip (18 wins, $90,000) has also produced a Whiskey Riot litter.

Cawbourne Rev herself won eight races and $39,000 and is the dam of Embossed, Rooster Bush, Grunt and Unchangeable.

The royally bred Swift Timing (My Bro Fabio-Fancy Mojo) won 20 races and $49,000 and came from a litter which also included Fancy Fabio (13 wins, $29,000), I'm Easy Boys (18 wins, $97,000), Pictor Lucy (15 wins, $32,000) and Tickle My Fancy (22 wins, $39,000).

She has produced a Whiskey Riot litter of three dogs and three bitches.

Zipping Rio (Don't Knocka Him-Tricky Gypsy)  is another from a fabulous litter, 10 named offspring and all of them winners.

She too has produced a Whiskey litter for Margaret Bright.

Topper Phoenix (My Bro Fabio-Cadence) is another, like Zipping Rio, from a 100% winning litter, to have produced a Whiskey litter.

She won five races and was placed 34 times for stakes of $39,000.

Azzopardi has his own bitch, proven producer Anastasia, about to come on season and she will go to Whiskey Riot as well.

“I've got a litter by Raw Ability out of her and it is the best litter I have ever broken in,” he raved.

“She will go to Whiskey as well.”
