Best Bets For Sandown Thursday August 26

IT'S an early start to Sandown Park again this Thursday for what is an interesting 12-race card.

We've found a couple of well boxed runners on the program which we expect to figure while we've also found a couple at value that can give backers a sight.

Race 1 Number 1 EAT MY DUST

Box one means more to some greyhounds than others and when it comes to this fella it's gold. Relishes a rails draw and his three starts from boxes one and two have all resulted in wins. Strikes a strong grade 5 but with the benefit of the red off some top recent Geelong runs expect him to get us off to a great start in the first. 

Race 4 Number 1 PILBARA

Comes into this off runner-up performances at his past two behind Speed Star winners on Wednesday Collinda Patty and Mepunga Ruby. Fantastic form lines for this and the benefit of the rails draw is a bonus. Only knock is that it's been a while between wins. Hopefully something he remedies today.

Race 10 Number 5 SIERRA FOXTROT

Seven starts at Sandown for four seconds. Recent outings have been in stronger grade and at tidy odds gets a chance to break through for his first city win. On his best sections should be in the firing line early and at around $6 looks a great each-way chance.

Race 2 Number 6 DAPH'S ASCEND

Plenty of chances in the second but at the $13 giving Daph's Ascend a terrific each-way chance. Can show a good turn of foot on her day and if she finds her PB first split of 5.03 she can look the winner for a long way.
