Chasin' Crackers Eyes City WInning Return

TOP flight chaser Chasin' Crackers returns to Sandown Park this Thursday night for the first time since the Easter Gift.

Last year's TAB Melbourne Cup runner-up returned to racing last week at Ballarat after a two month break.
His trainer Glenn Rounds said it wasn't due to injury but just a well-deserved spell for ‘Dino'.
"We just spelled him. There were no issues, he just needed a let up," said Rounds.
Chasin' Crackers raced 45 times over a 12 month period, he featured in six group 1 finals and placed in all but one. Although without a win at the sport's highest level, he still boasts $277,764 in prizemoney.
"He started racing in March last year and he had his spell at the same time this year. He had a great year so he deserved a good break.
"He won at Ballarat first up, it was good for him to get back into the grind of racing but returns to town this week."
Chasin' Crackers is engaged in the night's free-for-all and meets some of the sport's most in-form sprinters including Hecton Bale and Poke The Bear.
"It's a good race. Hecton Bale is drawn in the middle but he's a very good dog and Poke The Bear is probably a little awkwardly drawn. We'll see what happens, I'm happy with where he's at coming into it."
The free-for-all is race eight on the card and is set to jump at 8.34pm.
