King Of Cool Can Go Quicker In Curry Decider

KING Of Cool can go much quicker than his semi-final time of 30.95 when he takes on next Saturday night's Group 3 Vince Curry Maiden Final at Ipswich.

KING Of Cool can go much quicker than his semi-final time of 30.95 when he takes on next Saturday night's Group 3 Vince Curry Maiden final (520m) at Ipswich.

That's the warning from the dog's breeder, owner and trainer Mark Saal of the Zambora Brockie-Babs Kramer dog.

Saal denied rival trainer Mick Zammit's claim he had named the dog after himself despite Saal being a former Toowoomba DJ of note.

Now based on the Gold Coast, Saal has been raving about the litter since they were educated.

“This is a very good dog,” he said of King Of Cool.

“It was a great run in the semi-final, but we have been done no favours by drawing the five in the final.

“And, Corey Mutton's dog (He's Classified) likes to push off the track early and it has the three.”

King Of Cool chased home exciting youngster Starline Express in the final of the Dave Brett Memorial Maiden at Albion Park late in November and Saal put him aside to prepare for the Vince Curry.

“I thought he would go quicker in the semi,” said Mark.

“But, if he gets a bit of a clear run to the first turn, he will go much quicker in the final.

“I've prepped him to be at his best for the final. He did get a solid check at the first turn.

“But, he has been missing the start slightly.

“This litter is as good a bunch of chasers as I have trained. It will prompt me to breed another litter with the mother.”

Saal, a dedicated form student, believes fastest semi winner, Adam Macintosh's Elisheba (My Redeemer-Lilly Sur Seine) is the hardest to beat in the final but the box draw has done her no favours either presenting her with the seven.

“She has drawn perfectly in the heat and semi,” said Saal.

‘”And both of those wins have been in fast times, but more like a solo trial for her. The final will be tougher for her from the seven.”

Elisheba ran 30.41 scoring by five and a half lengths in her semi scorching through a first section of 5.33, beating Bob Adams' Stone Cold Blue.

Grafton breeder, Tracy Hindmarsh landed Brimstone (Flying Fired Up-Agame) a five and a quarter length winner of his semi but reports are the dog had been trialling much quicker in the lead-up to the series.

Brimstone downed Eric Raeburn's Free Drop.

Corey Mutton landed the other semi with He's Classified (Barcia Bale-Fusion Girl) by a length and a quarter over Digital Sea in 30.74.
