Brilliant Barcia's To Do Battle At Bendigo

THE epic clash between Who Told Stevie and Shima Shine highlights an outstanding card of racing at Bendigo this Friday afternoon.

With just three weeks until the start of the $50,000 to-the-winner Bendigo Cup series, connections of some of the sport's most talented sprinters have been frequenting Bendigo in recent weeks in preparation for the showcase event.

And that only intensifies on Friday with the mouthwatering clash between Who Told Stevie and Shima Shine, the pair currently $2 take your pick for race seven over the 425 metres.

FIELDS AND FORM FOR BENDIGO FRIDAY

Both sprinters have been on the comeback trail in recent weeks with limited starts in the first half of 2020.

Who Told Stevie, a litter brother to Simon Told Helen, has been simply brilliant at his racing resumption at Ballarat in recent weeks, peeling off cracking 25.03 and 24.94 victories.

And while he heads to Bendigo on Friday, it's no guarantee the son of Barcia Bale will contest the fast approaching Bendigo Cup, trainer David Burnett toying with the idea of sending the hugely talented galloper to Queensland for the Group 1 Brisbane Cup at Albion Park.

And while Who Told Stevie's Bendigo Cup assault isn't a foregone conclusion, the same can't be said for Shima Shine, the immense talent rubber-stamped for the rich feature.

Having faced the starter on just five occasions in 2020, Shima Shine returned to winning form with a slick best of night 25.12 success at Warrnambool last week, win 13 of his 22 start career.

Team Dailly have worked through an agonising run of injuries with the Million Dollar Chase runner-up in recent times, nothing really going right since he was considered a tragedy beaten in last November's Group 1 Topgun at The Meadows.

Shima Shine isn't the only Bendigo Cup prospect the Daillys have engaged at Bendigo on Friday with crack sprinter Jax Bale a short-priced favourite for race five.

A sizzling 29.14 Sandown winner three runs back in a heat of the Group 1 Harrison-Dawson, Jax Bale was a recent finalist in the Warrnambool Cup won brilliantly by Zambora Smokey, another on a Bendigo Cup trail.
