Faheys Celebrate Tassie Oaks Treble

VETERAN trainer Gary Fahey celebrated his third LGRC Tasmanian Oaks victory at Launceston on Monday night with track specialist Just Browsing overcoming a mid-race check to land the $5,400 to-the-winner feature.

Sent to the boxes as a raging $1.30 favourite for the 44th running of the all-female classic, the May ‘16 daughter of My Bro Fabio and Dennes Point made it six from six at the Tasman Park circuit to score a remarkable 2 ½ length victory in 29.99.
Just Browsing defeated Buckle Up Rose and Buckle Up Maria, taking her prizemoney to $32,755.
Winner at eight of her 11 career starts, the well-bred Just Browsing joins Becky Baba (2008) and Jouster (2017) as Fahey's winners of the time-honoured Oaks feature.
It was a third classic victory for Just Browsing, following success in the Breeders Classic and Illingworth Classic.
"Fantastic win, we couldn't be any more pleased with her effort," Fahey praised early this week.
"Winning six from six on this track takes a special animal to handle such a difficult circuit and she has done it at the right time winning a Breeders Classic and the Illingworth Classic at just a hand full of starts makes it such a great achievement having bred and reared her."
The black chaser came into the Tasmanian Oaks on the back of two unplaced runs at Devonport.
From the "cherry" Just Browsing won her heat in 29.78 staving off a late charge from Sunnyside Up scoring by two lengths, which surged her to favourtism for the feature, drawing box two in the final against recent Devonport Country Oaks winner Miss Hanigan.
"You really needed to put a line through Just Browsing's two runs at Devonport, she was checked badly in a heat of the Country Oaks and then in her second run there was in trouble again when fourth to Fernando Magic," Gary added.
Both Gary and his brother Greg hold their top-producing broodbitch Dennes Point in the highest regard.
"I've waited my entire life in racing to get a broodbitch like her and it's been a fantastic thrill, she has given us something in all four litters and soon it will be time for her daughters to continue the dynasty and we are looking at Jouster (x El Grand Senor) for her first litter," said Gary.
Both Fahey-trained runners Just Browsing, and litter sister Sacred Shadow, will head to Hobart this Thursday night to contest the star-studded seven heats of the Winter Tasbred Cup (461m) with $10,000 awaiting the winner of next week's decider.
