Jebrynah Scratched From Maturity

SATURDAY night's Maturity Classic Final at The Meadows has been robbed of one of its major draw cards with Jebrynah withdrawn from the final.

SATURDAY night's Group 1 Maturity Classic Final (525m) at The Meadows has been robbed of one of its major draw cards with Jebrynah withdrawn from the $100,000 to-the-winner final.

Earlier this week, Jebrynah's trainer Rocky Crisafi told the Recorder that his star charge would be right to go for the age-restricted feature, following speculation that the son of Cosmic Rumble had suffered an injury coming out of last week's spectacular heat victory.

And in what's crushing news for Gary Cowcher, owner/trainer of Ruby Girl, the daughter of Cosmic Rumble has also come out of the group 1 final after coming on season.

The two scratchings paves the way for Whiskey Riot and Good Odds Buddy to take their place in the field.

Interestingly, NSW-based chaser Good Odds Buddy scored at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night for Frank Hurst, the Londonderry conditioner now set for a mad dash to The Meadows this Saturday night to tackle the unexpected group 1 assignment.

The scratching of Jebrynah in particular has seen race favourite Sennachie shorten right up to $2.50 with Bet365 for the group 1 blockbuster, the son of Fernando Bale set to exit box eight.
