Saal Confident Ahead Of Emerging Sprinters

IN-FORM King Of Cool heads back to Albion Park on Thursday in the QGOLD Emerging Sprinters and Mark Saal is adamant he is placed to win.

IN-FORM King Of Cool heads back to Albion Park on Thursday night for a heat of the QGOLD Emerging Sprinters (520m) and owner-trainer Mark Saal is adamant he is perfectly placed to win.

The son of Zambora Brockie-Babs Kramer comes off three straight wins, two at Ipswich one in a flying 24.74 and another at Capalaba in 19.66.

FIELDS AND FORM ALBION PARK THURSDAY

From 17 starts he has won six but has already been second in a Dave Brett Memorial Maiden at Albion Park and been a finalist in the G3 Vince Curry Maiden.

“I could not be happier with the dog and this is a race that really suits him,” said Mark.

“I've kept him away from Albion Park lately because he is not great from the boxes there.

“He's getting better though.”

Keep It Cool is backing up from a fast win at Capalaba last Sunday in a 5th Grade series.

“Have a look at the final field for this Sunday,” said Saal a long-time form student. “He ran 19.66 to win his heat and was about the fourth fastest.

“It is a monster field for a fifth grade at Capalaba.”

Saal raced the dam Babs Kramer the winner of one race.

“A great bitch but she was incredibly slow early,” he said.

“But, she could run final sections unheard of.

“In fact, I clocked her one trial morning to come home in 11.60 and I don't think Blue Hornet ran that quick when he broke the track record up there a few months ago.”

Saal has King Of Cool's litter brother Van Helsing drawn box four in the second heat of the QGOLD and rates him a chance despite his draw.

“There is not much between them,” he said.

He believes the Michael/Selena Zammit rails runner Another Chance is the one to beat for KIng Of Cool.

“Every time I race a Mick and Selena Zammit dog, they always seem to come up with the red,” said Saal.

Another Chance is a last-start fifth to Dolly Dutton in last week's Young Guns final but his previous form had been highly consistent.
