Grafton To Stage Two Finish-On Lure Meetings

GRAFTON will run two finish-on race meetings in September.

Club president John Corrigan said on Wednesday this was as a response to a number of approaches from trainers on the Northern Rivers for such a service.

“We have Tuesday race meetings on September 13 and 20 and have decided we will have the finish-on lure in use on those dates,” said Corrigan.

“We will see what the response is like and make a decision on its future after that.”

Corrigan pointed out no finish-on lure racing was available on the Northern Rivers and only Richmond's twilight Sunday meetings used the finish-on.

“Our committee discussed the situation and we are aware some dogs need a change,” said Corrigan.

“It's there for trainers to embrace and if that's the case we'll look to roll it out more permanently.”
