PETER Sims has been educating greyhounds for some years, ranking Million Dollar glamour She's A Pearl the best.

But, Peter is high in praise of the first few litters he has educated by Group 1 star Houdini Boy (Zambora Brockie-Pechey).

“I've sent home two litters and I've been impressed by both of them,” said Sims.

“But, the best feature of all of them is their strength.”

Sims takes his educators to Temora for trialling and gets a great guide to their future hopes with sections at that track.

“If it runs 11.30 early a pup is going good,” he said. “But, if it breaks 8.50 come home that is special for a pup.

“Many race dogs cannot get under 8.50 come home.

“But, most of these Houdini Boy pups I've educated are coming home in the region of 8.18.

“I can't say a bad word about any of the pups in those two litters.

“The strength to the line is great.”

Houdini Boy tragically broke a hock after just 28 starts winning 14 and running 10 placings for stakes of $267,000.

He won both the Group 1 Sale Cup and Zoom Top, was third in the G1 Bold Trease and a finalist in the G1 Vic Peters and Super Stayers.

He stands at Newhaven Stud at a fee of $1980.
