Magical Cyndie Ruled Out Of National Sprint

CYNDIE and Bill Elson have lost their bid to get Magical Cyndie to the final of the Group 1 National Sprint at Wentworth Park on Saturday week.

CYNDIE and Bill Elson may have lost their bid to get Magical Cyndie to the final of the Group 1 National Sprint at Wentworth Park on Saturday week.

The bitch pulled up sore in a back muscle after winning the Queensland final at Albion Park as a $51 rank outsider on August 11.

It was initially thought the injury was not bad enough to stop her being right in time for the National final.

But the Elsons saw the task facing them with the daughter of Fernando Bale and Cyndie's Magic the winner of 29 of her 99 starts.

“The injury is not bad, but there does not seem enough time to have her right for a final like that,” said the Elson's son Travis who had planned to take the bitch to Sydney for his parents.

“At this stage, mum and dad plan to bring her back to race,” said Travis.

“She has not been scratched officially yet, but that will be done.”

Trainer Cyndie said she is still working on the injury but admitted her chances of running in the final were “probably not”.

Travis said Magical Cyndie's grand mother Cyndie's Magic has her third litter, two dogs and two bitches by Dyna Double One, on the way to the racetrack.

“They are 15 months old and dad says they are the best litter he has ever had,” said Travis.

“Cyndie's Magic's litter sister Hope's Magic had a litter by Dyna Double One and they have won $500,000.”

Cyndie Elson initially thought she would have to scratch this week for the following week's final. She said today she would wait until next Thursday for a final decision.
