Woods' 'Lightning' Gardens Double

NABIAC couple Allan and Karen Woods landed a winning double at Ladbrokes Gardens on Saturday evening, with Nabiac Soldier and Ellie Belles posting impressive heat victories of the Ladbrokes Monthly Medal Series (515m).

By in-form sire My Bro Fabio out of Born Lightning, Nabiac Soldier posted a flying best of meeting 29.61 to defeat promising youngster Second Avenue by two lengths, while his litter-sister Elle Belles was equally impressive, going a smidge slower running 29.62 to secure her fifth race success.
Saturday night's Ladbrokes Medal Final over the 515 metres carries a cool $4,000 first prize, with fastest qualifier Nabiac Soldier drawing awkwardly in box five while litter sister Ellie Belles has drawn far more favourably in box two.
The pair's dam Born Lightning lacks nothing in pedigree, a full sister to 20-race winner Born Ali, responsible for outstanding chaser Benali from her first litter to Barcia Bale.
